About
Why SOOCH exists
The founding idea comes from real community experiences, not from a product.
People can suddenly face significant practical and financial difficulties following a death. Families may need help understanding processes, organising documents, respecting preferences, arranging burial or cremation or repatriation, and coordinating practical arrangements.
SOOCH is being established so a community can prepare for those moments together, and so that support is not limited to the days immediately after a loss.
SOOCH also believes that sustainable assistance can sometimes be more valuable than repeated short-term handouts. Helping someone obtain useful stock, tools, equipment, or skills can enable them to establish their own source of income.
SOOCH is a community-support initiative.
Community assistance is not insurance. It is not guaranteed funeral-cost cover. Any support depends on the programme rules and the resources available at the time.
