Help towards an independent living

SOOCH aims to help people develop skills and practical ways to earn, where that is realistic.

The aim is skills development, vocational training, practical follow-up and accountability. Someone who receives help should be able to use it, and SOOCH should be able to see whether the help was used as agreed.

Support may include locally sourced tools and equipment, starter stock, and small-business opportunities. The point is to help someone earn an independent living, not to rely only on repeated cash support.

The examples below are kinds of help the programme may offer. They are not current awards, and they do not describe individual beneficiaries, costs or fundraising targets.

  • Skills development
  • Vocational training
  • Locally sourced tools and equipment
  • Starter stock
  • Small-business opportunities
  • Practical follow-up

Pakistan Tools for Livelihood

Pakistan Tools for Livelihood is a proposed initiative. It has not been delivered, and it is not an open appeal.

The idea is to help people obtain locally sourced tools or equipment they can use to earn. No beneficiaries, costs or fundraising target are published here, because those figures have not been established.
