Bereavement support
Practical support, held with care
A community model for recording what matters, and for helping a family with practical arrangements after a death.
A member can keep important information securely, so that if they die, the people supporting their family are not starting from nothing.
When a death occurs, SOOCH aims to help the family navigate practical arrangements. Any financial assistance is separate from membership, discretionary, and depends on the circumstances and funds available.
What a member can record
- Next of kin
- Emergency contacts
- Preferences
- Faith or belief considerations, where someone chooses to provide them
- Burial or cremation preferences
- Whether arrangements should be in the United Kingdom or involve repatriation
- Useful documentation
- Special instructions
Community assistance is not insurance. It is not guaranteed funeral-cost cover. Any support depends on the programme rules and the resources available at the time.
Report a death
If someone has died, you can tell SOOCH. You will need to sign in. SOOCH will review what you send and contact you if more information is needed. This does not arrange a funeral or confirm that support can be provided.
Report a deathSOOCH Community Membership is £100 per year. Membership applications will open soon. Registering an interest does not create a membership or start a payment.
